About the Yahoo Finance License

The financr package retrieves data from Yahoo Finance, a property of Yahoo Inc. 

Legal Acceptance. With any use of Yahoo Finance data, the user’s agreement is contracted, see hereafter.

The user comply with the Yahoo Finance’s API terms and has no possibility of disputing it as soon as data as retrieved, i.e. if you “disagree with any of the terms in the TOU or API Documents, Yahoo does not grant you a license to use the Yahoo APIs” (https://legal.yahoo.com/us/en/yahoo/terms/product-atos/apiforydn/ 2025).

Good Practices. Regarding the good practices when fetching from the Yahoo Finance API:

Use the Yahoo APIs in a manner that exceeds reasonable request volume, constitutes excessive or abusive usage, or otherwise fails to comply or is inconsistent with any part of the Yahoo API documentation located within http://developer.yahoo.com/ as determined by Yahoo in its sole discretion.
